Hi, I’m Elpida, but you can call me Vatomouro (yep, like the Greek word for raspberry).
I’m a calligraphy artist and designer based in Athens, with a passion for transforming letters into art and an expertise in calligraphy techniques. My journey began during my studies in Art & Design, and I’ve since dedicated myself to the craft of handmade calligraphy using traditional tools like dip pens, brushes, and ink.
After graduating from Middlesex University, I spent time in the advertising industry, but in 2020 I made the leap to full-time independent artistry. Now, I focus on creating custom calligraphy projects from my studio in Athens.
My work draws inspiration from nature, ancient Greek, and medieval manuscripts, blending historical techniques with modern design. For me, letters are more than just symbols; they are dynamic, expressive forms that have the power to transform perception and any space, telling a unique story.
